A’ja Wilson’s subtle nod to Bam Adebayo
While speaking with People, Wilson shared a subtle yet telling confirmation of their connection while discussing her Valentine’s Day plans.
“My plans are here at NBA All-Star,”Wilson said, referencing the event in Indianapolis.
However, she quickly noted that her Valentine wouldn’t be there.
“My NBA All-Star is not here,” she added, acknowledging that Adebayo wasn’t selected for the 2025 game.
The Miami Heat center, instead, was taking some well-deserved time off.
“And that’s the best Valentine’s gift that I can truly give him, is just the rest,”Wilson shared.
Though she playfully dodged officially labeling their relationship, the chemistry between the two has been evident.
From their time together during the 2024 Paris Olympics to Adebayo’s viral moment sporting Wilson’s signature Nike A’One sneakers, the duo has given basketball fans plenty to talk about.
“It was super dope. It was a moment…[Bam Adebayo] really wanted to be at the forefront of pushing my shoes,”Wilson said, acknowledging his support.
“If I have to put it out in the NBA, why not have someone like Bam Adebayo, who’s just a good person all around, to kind of showcase my shoes?”
Rumors about their relationship began circulating during the Olympics, where the two were frequently spotted together.
The buzz only grew after Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava seemingly confirmed their connection while presenting Adebayo with a key to the city in September 2024.
“A’ja Wilson, she won gold in women’s basketball. I guess that has something to do with Bam and the Heat being here today,” she teased.
While her personal life is drawing attention, Wilson continues to make headlines in her career.
Recently, she graced the cover of TIME Magazine’s Women of the Year issue, celebrating female athletes who are shaping the future of sports.
Wilson, who helped Team USA secure gold in Paris and was named tournament MVP, continues to cement her legacy on and off the court.
As the 2025 WNBA season approaches, Wilson will focus on leading the Las Vegas Aces back to championship contention after falling short in their three-peat bid last year.
Meanwhile, fans will undoubtedly keep an eye on her growing love story with Adebayo-whether she keeps it coy or not.
