The Chicago Sky’s star player, Angel Reese, has stunned fans with a brand new haircut on the eve of the WNBA’s return, sending them crazy as the 22-year-old shows off her versatility and style.

The forward returns to action against the Phoenix Mercury on August 15 but she’ll look a bit different after swapping out her long free-flowing hair for cornrows as the WNBA All-Star also showed off an au natural look online.

“Baby face.” Reese captioned the photo in her apartment on Tuesday, August 13, showing off her new hair and face whilst she got her earrings and a golden necklace into the shot too, whilst the rest of the cornrows dropped over her shoulder.

The ex-LSU Tiger is back in the United States after jetting out to Paris, France for the 2024 Olympic Games to cheer on Team USA before they brought home the gold medal in women’s basketball.

Now, as she averages 13.5 points per game, 12 rebounds and 1.5 steals, she finds herself firmly in contention for the WNBA Rookie of the Year Award against the Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark and has been in practise since the start of August.

When do the Chicago Sky play?

The Chicago Sky will next be in action against the Pheonix Mercury on Friday, August 15 as they welcome the Arizonans to Windy City at the Wintrust Arena with tip-off expected at 21:00 ET/18:00 PT.

The Mercury are .520 for the season with 13 wins to their name, whilst the Sky are currently fourth in the Eastern Conference with a .417 record meaning it should be a tight affair but the Mercury go in with a slender advantage.

Phoenix are fourth in the Western Conference but only four games back from the Minnesota Lynx (.680) whilst Angel Reese’s Chicago Sky trail the Liberty (.840) by 10.5 games.

A win could move Reese above Caitlin Clark‘s Indiana Fever to give her the bragging rights in their ongoing rivalry.
