Angel Reese issued serious warning about Kim Mulkey to LSU players in first loss to South Carolina
She wanted to give her former teammates a warning
Kim Mulkey and Angel Reese
Few players know Kim Mulkey better than Angel Reese, with the Chicago Sky star spending the previous year working under Mulkey for the LSU Tigers.
The Tigers were in NCAA action on Friday night against the South Carolina Gamecocks and they suffered their first defeat of the season.
Reese was watching the Tigers as she keeps a close eye on her old school team, and she showed on social media how she knew exactly what was in store for the Tigers players during the interval.
“I know the message at half that Kim bout to give word for word,” Reese wrote alongside two crying laughing emojis.
Reese was cheering on her alma mater before and during the game, writing before tipoff: “BRING YO BADDEST B OUT TODAY! @LSUwbkb Rocking with yall today!”
Mulkey assesses the defeat
Mulkey was very frank when assessing how the match panned out for her side. She said after the game: “Well, I think we took care of the ball for the most part. I’ve been in this building down a hell of a lot more. I thought we started off pretty good.
“They’re subbing quickly, so that tells me a little bit about their rotation on who they think needs to be in the game. So, I’ve got to pay attention to that. I thought we took a couple of bad shots. You can’t take bad shots against South Carolina. They’ll make you pay.”
When asked what she learned from the defeat, she told reporters: “I learned we can hang with the best in the country, and I do think they’re the best in the country.
“I don’t know if I’ve ever coached against a team that has 10 McDonald’s All-Americans on a roster … and how do you keep 10 McDonald’s All-Americans on a roster?”
