This beef might be on for a while as Magic Johnson, NBA legend, responded harshly and directly to Anthony Edwards after he minimized the level of his predecessors.
“They say it was harder back then than it is now, but I don’t think anyone had the skill back then. (Michael Jordan) was the only one who really had ability,” Edwards said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal.
Magic Johnson, winner of five NBA rings with the Lakers, three-time MVP in finals and player of the legendary Dream Team who also bathed in Olympic gold in Barcelona 1992, reacted to this.
Magic did not hold back
The NBA legend did not avoid the subject and was very direct on it as he talked about it and his way of going through it caught everyone’s attention and now everyone is talking about it.
“I don’t respond to a guy who never won a championship… He didn’t win a college championship, I don’t even know if he won a high school championship,” he said in an interview with Stephen A. Smith.
‘Ant-Man’ has only four seasons in the NBA with the Timberwolves, a franchise that chose him in the first position in the 2020 draft.
In the last year Edwards was an important piece in guiding the team to the Western Conference final, which Lost to the Dallas Mavericks.
