Brittany Mahomes caused an uproar on social media a few days ago after giving a hint about her political preferences. This simple gesture earned her an avalanche of criticism from her detractors, who even questioned the future of her relationship with one of her most famous friends, singer Taylor Swift.
Just a few days ago, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes landed in hot water by giving a “like” to one of the proposals of the Republican Party presidential candidate, Donald Trump.

That simple gesture unleashed a storm on Brittany’s social media accounts with all kinds of comments trying to “correct” her political preferences. Far from backing down, the model and businesswoman published a fiery defense of her position and punished those who attack others for their political preferences.
That didn’t stop her critics either, who even brought to light a possible unexpected consequence of her support for Trump: a confrontation with her friend Taylor Swift.
Brittany and Taylor’s relationship is in danger
Swift and Mahomes met as a result of the singer’s relationship with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, a close friend of Patrick Mahomes. Both women shared the team’s box at several games in the 2023 NFL season, what’s more, Taylor integrated the famous WAG into her inner circle of friends.
However, Brittany’s recent political revelation could open a gap between them, as her critics have warned on social media.
“Well, it looks like Brittany can forget posting up with Taylor Swift in the skyboxes from now on. Could seriously strain their tik tok relationship,” warned one user of X (formerly Twitter). “This season is gonna be awkward in the stadium suites with Brittany and Taylor Swift,” someone else agreed.
“And there goes the Taylor Swift / Brittany Mahomes ‘friendship’,” a third noted, while another quoted one of the singer’s biggest hits, “Brittany Mahomes….Taylor Swift is never ever getting back together with you.”
Swift is a die-hard Democrat
Until a few years ago, Swift had stayed out of politics, even going so far as to say she was apolitical. However, since 2018, the singer has not hesitated to express her support for Democratic Party candidates at all levels.
This has earned her criticism from politicians and conservative figures, including former President Donald Trump, with whom she has an open feud. The two have exchanged bitter criticism, and neither hesitates to respond to the other’s attacks.
With this history, it’s easy to see why Brittany’s critics consider, or hope, that Taylor will remove her from her friends list. Swift will have the final say, but we will surely find out in a few weeks when the opportunity for the long-awaited reunion at some NFL stadium arrives.
