Caitlin Clark's cozies up to Brittany and Patrick Mahomes with a message amid the birth of Golden Raye

Brittany and Patrick Mahomes have shared good news with their family and fans after announcing the arrival of baby number three.

The birth of Golden Raye Mahomes has prompted a wave of well-wishing around the sports world, let alone in the NFL. The third child of Brittany and Patrick MahomesGolden joins siblings Bronze and Sterling just in time for the start of the Kansas City Chiefs‘ playoff run — which they hope will end in New Orleans, the site of Super Bowl LIX.

As the Chiefs‘ most famous fan Taylor Swift chimed in bright and early on Golden‘s arrival into the world, but Caitlin Clark — another famous Chiefs fan — sent a message of her own to Brittany following this momentous occasion.

Clark’s one-word message says it all

Very soon after Brittany Mahomes announced Golden’s birth on Monday afternoon, Clark liked the resultant Instagram post and left a comment that read “Congrats“, complete with a red heart emoji to signify her true feelings. That comment itself has been liked more than 1,600 times as of Tuesday afternoon.

Clark was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa — prime territory for Chiefs fans, given its location, around three hours from Kansas City, Missouri by car. Clark recently told Travis and Jason Kelce on their “New Heights” podcast that she can be considered the furthest thing from a “bandwagon” Chiefs fan, and she balanced that lifelong love with the pursuit of a career in basketball.

While playing for the University of Iowa, Clark broke the NCAA record for points scored in a college basketball career, and she later became the #1 overall pick of the Indiana Fever in the 2024 WNBA Draft. Clark was named Rookie of the Year in 2024 and finished fourth in MVP voting while leading the Fever to the playoffs for the first time in eight years.
