Caitlin Clark fans’ massive boycott attacking Team USA beginning with recent Paris Olympics game.

Caitlin Clark fans were enraged when the WNBA rookie wasn’t selected for the Team USA women’s basketball squad for the Paris Olympics.

They took to social media to express their frustration, with some even criticizing the oldest veteran on the team, Diana Taurasi.

At 42, Taurasi was targeted by fans who felt Clark, at 22, deserved a spot on the Olympic team, despite only just being drafted into the WNBA after a record-breaking collegiate career.

Hours before Team USA‘s match against Japan, Clark‘s supporters voiced their anger again, with some even calling for a boycott of the event.

WNBA in further hot water with Caitlin Clark’s fans

The WNBA, currently on break for the Olympics, had posted a schedule featuring A’ja Wilson & Co, this is remarkably bizarre when you consider the fact she is perhaps the most marketable star women’s basketball has ever had, and her on-court performances have been strong, earning her a place in the WNBA all-star game.

Fans noticed the absence of Clark on the poster, which included seasoned stars like WilsonBreanna StewartNapheesa CollierKelsey Plum, and Kahleah Copper and were positively livid.

Despite the experience of the listed players, Clark‘s fans argue she is more formidable, given her status as the all-time leading scorer in NCAA men’s and women’s basketball. These records, according to her fans, raise her status far above those who have gone before in the WNBA and the league not recognizing as much is an insult.

Often compared to NBA legend Stephen Curry for her long-range shooting, Clark was expected by many to make the Team USA roster and showcase her talent in the Paris Olympics. However, this season, she won’t have the opportunity to represent her country on the grand stage.
