On Wednesday, Caitlin Clark played a new WNBA game with a new triple-double in the books for her during the Indiana Fever’s 93-86 victory over Los Angeles Sparks. Caitlin Clark spoke about the reason she plays in the WNBA, they wanted to know if she did it for herself.

Her response did make us think of some of the greatest athletes in history and how they followed a similar philosophy. There are soundbytes of similar messages from pretty much all the greats, who know how important it is for them to entertain people with their gifts.

Kobe Bryant is a great example of that, although Kobe’s response was more along the lines of being concerned over people spending their hard earned dime on NBA tickets. Cristiano Ronaldo during his prime was well aware of that and he always made it his mission to be as spectacular as possible.

Other great examples are Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Stephen Curry, and LeBron James. All of them know how important it is to entertain the public.

Caitlin Clark is still very young and the perspective taken by her to explain this will change over time. She will eventually understand that she can relay the same core message without doing so much virtue signaling. When she does this, she will mature even more as a super star.

Fans who saw her response to this question were also puzzled by this virtue signaling but we all learn from our mistakes. Hopefully, Clark can check herself more in the future and understand how this meda game works better.

Caitlin Clark dazzles on the court

The Los Angeles Sparks suffered Caitlin Clark’s power on Wednesday as the Indiana Fever defeated them with another fantastic performace from Clark. During the game, she finished with another triple-double of 24 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists, and 3 steals.

It was another fantastic performance from the rookie who understands she is also doing this for the fans. Maybe next time she is asked, she won’t announce loudly that she is being altruistic, who knows? Regardless of the reaction from people who didn’t like that from her, Caitlin Clark is still well on her way to be the Rookie of the Year.
