Caitlin Clark already appears to have addressed speculation that she is considering a shock move away from the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), saying ‘I wouldn’t change anything for the world’ in a telling seven-word statement when assessing her season.

The point guard has risen to fame after a sensational rookie campaign with Indiana Fever, leaving her side to the WNBA play-offs before they were ultimately beaten in the first round by the Connecticut Sun.

Clark’s displays saw her fend off Angel Reese to win Rookie of the Year, with broadcasters seeing their viewer numbers boom as the sport reached a new audience as a result of the Iowa native’s rise to glory.

Her record-breaking campaign has seen speculation swirl about what the future holds for Clark, with some claiming that the 22-year-old is weighing up whether to remain in the WNBA or upstick and head elsewhere.

What next for Ten Hag after keeping Man Utd job

The rookie would not be short of interest if she were to declare that she wants to move away from the United States.

However, Clark already appears to have hinted that she will remain within the WNBA for the upcoming season.

Writing on Instagram earlier this week, she said: “I feel very thankful. I wouldn’t change anything for the world. I feel very thankful for the relationships I’ve built, the opportunities that I’ve had, the way people have supported me, and whether it was at Iowa or whether it’s now in the WNBA.”

Clark had also previously told her supporters that she would ‘see them’ next year, in a major hint that an exit from the States is not a consideration at this stage in her career. She wrote: “Year one — thank you to the many people who have supported me as I’ve been able to live my childhood dream. I’m filled with gratitude as I reflect on this past year of my life. See you all in year two.”

Clark is now enjoying her time away from basketball by turning her attention to focusing on her golf game. She will compete with Indiana Fever teammate Lexie Hull the next month’s LPGA Tour event, a tournament hosted by Annika Sorenstam.

The duo have filmed themselves preparing for the competition, with Clark impressing when playing a par three hole.

The point guard came incredibly close to recording a hole-in-one with her tee shot, missing the mark by a matter of inches in what was a clear indicator that she will be a force to be reckoned with at the Tour event.
