Carrie Underwood greeted fans before appearing on Good Morning America as others continue to hate on her into American Idol’s premiere.
American Idol singer leaves Carrie Underwood in tears
Singer and newest American Idol judge Carrie Underwood greeted fans before appearing on Good Morning America with her fellow judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie.
Underwood was all smiles as she posed for snaps going into the interview, even as she continues to attract hate days before the ABC singing competition show’s Season 23 premiere.
She wore a sparkly white blazer and matching pants while her blonde locks were styled down in waves.
On GMA, the trio discussed what it was like judging the newest contestants and played a game of ‘Who’s Most Likely…’
All three were in agreement that Bryan was the first to leave a party, start a dance-off, and the one judge who was the most reluctant to give a contestant a golden ticket.

However, fans are still not on board with Underwood’s casting, especially since performed at Donald Trump’s inauguration.
In the comments section of GMA’s announcement of the judge’s appearance on the show, one person wrote: “Won’t be watching. Carrie Underwood doesn’t care about truth-telling since she performed for the lying president. No more @carrieunderwood for me.”
Fans also recently fumed about the singer after a first look at the new season premiered following the Oscars on ABC.
One fan wrote: “I refuse to watch carrie underwood on @AmericanIdol.”
“I hope many drag carrie #MAGA UNDERWOOD into a terrible time.#americanidol,” another said.
A third shared to X: “Nobody’s watching American Idol especially with Carrie Underwood’s maga loving a–.”
“I’m not watching miss carrie maga underwood. I only watched the Fox version of American Idol. Not this catastrophe. #Oscars,” wrote a fourth.
A fifth shared: “Remember, Carrie Underwood supports a 34 time convicted felon in Donald Trump, someone who also allegedly raped 14 year old girls! That’s who Carrie Underwood is!”

“i just found out carrie underwood is a judge on american idol now wtf no bring back katy,” a final wrote.
Others were not impressed by American Idol and ABC for trying to capitalize on the viewers of Hollywood’s biggest night, choosing to air the first look while viewership was up.
Taking to X, one fumed, “Why is American idol still on… cut it off,” as a second added, “I was trying to see the oscars and stupid american idol is still on.”
A third raged, “Why the hell does American Idol still come on,” as a fourth commented, “Oh wow… @ABCNetwork just cut off the Oscars to go to…American Idol? Huge fail, ABC.”
Others wrote, “yikes, this ABC preview of American Idol is awful,” and “The Oscars is way more important than American Idol. Put it on dammit!”
In a sneak peek of the season, Underwood broke down in tears and admitted: “I’m not okay,” during an emotional performance by a contestant.
She couldn’t contain her emotions as contestant Slater Nalley auditioned with an original song he wrote for his teacher’s late son, who was killed nine years ago.
Mrs Davis explained to the judges that Slater Nalley, one of her students, wanted to perform a song he wrote about her son Carter Davis, who was killed at the age of 17 in 2016.
Slater revealed that while he didn’t know Carter, he felt a presence in his life after learning about him – which is why he felt he “needed to do something” and he wrote a song about him.
During Slater’s performance, Underwood could be seen getting teary and when asked by her fellow judge Luke Bryan if she was okay, she admitted she wasn’t, as she told the contestant: “I couldn’t have imagined you doing that any better.”
