Grimes shares exactly how she ended relationship with Elon Musk after comments on social media

Grimes has shared the details about her break up with Elon Musk after Azealia Banks called her out online.

The 36-year-old took to X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday to clear up the rumors about her breakup with the Tesla CEO after the rapper referred to her infamous 2018 feud with Grimes through the repost of an AI-generated meme.

The meme portrayed Grimes as Glinda and Banks as Elphaba, AKA the Wicked Witch of the West. The Canadian musician jokingly tweeted stating: “Hate to say it but would’ve been kinda lit,” but the New York rapper wasn’t too pleased with the response.

“Girl the way u are still trying to hold out on some weird a** innocent bulls*** years later after u got dumped, cheated on, ur kids kidnapped and still trying to paint me like the villian [sic],” she wrote in a scathing tweet.

She continued: “[You] act like ur above me when ur getting sonned by elons secretary, when ur the one that *literally* did not make the f****** music and Elon is the one who harvested ur eggs and took a picture of your c section is PEAK white female delusion.”

The ‘New Bottega’ singer urged Grimes to “get over yourself ho [sic].”

“The n**** has like four new kids and ur really a lame,” she added, before concluding the tweet with: “Sis. U can really quit mentioning me. I know you wish you could be my bestie but b****….. it’s f****** boring as hell. Let it go.”

Grimes didn’t hesitate to hit back at Banks, emphasizing the fact that she wasn’t offended by the meme, unlike her.

“It’s just a funny joke bro. not trying to paint u as a villain,” Grimes said in her response, before revealing she was the one that left Musk. “I didn’t ‘get dumped.’ I bounced. My amazing baby is asleep in my bed beside me, I’m in love. No regrets. Life is as beautiful as u want it to be.”

She also added: “Ur insanely talented. Even after all this, I want u to win. God bless Mlady.”

In a follow-up tweet responding to a fan who sided with Grimes, she also referred to the star as “the best hater on the planet.

“At a point I just gave up and accepted that I appreciate the madness of existence,” the ‘Delicate Weapon’ singer added.

Musk and Grimes first met in back in 2018 after he sent her a message on social media. The pair started dating and their relationship got serious pretty quickly.

In 2021, the pair separated due to conflicting schedules, as per Page Six.

The pair share three children; A four-year-old son, X AE A-XII, who is nicknamed X, a daughter, Exa – who was given the nickname Y – via surrogate and Techno Mechanicus, who they welcomed secretly back in September 2023.
