Jesse Watters was derided as a “hypocrite” online
Despite recently calling for the Trump administration to be “less callous” in their Department of Government Efficiency(DOGE) federal job cuts – with the 6,700 IRS staff recently laid off – Fox News host Jesse Watters has been accused of ‘hypocrisy’ after a video compilation showed him ‘celebrating’ DOGE firings.
Watter, who just welcomed a new arrival, recently called on the Trump administration to be “less callous” when implementing their plans to lay off federal employees after he claimed a military veteran friend was “DOGE’d” after Elon Musk’s Pentagon cuts.
A report on February 19 revealed that the Pentagon had given the Trump administration a list of probationary employees who could be affected in the next round of federal workforce cuts. On Wednesday’s episode of The Five, Watters shared the story of his friend, a 20-year military veteran who had only been in a new role at the Pentagon for a few months and was still on probation.
However, despite Watters’ public protestations, CNN compiled a clip showing the Fox News host endorsing DOGE firings. On X, the Acyn account uploaded the video with the caption: “CNN put together clips of Watters celebrating federal workers being fired after he said recently that people need to be less callous when talking about a friend of his potentially being fired from the Pentagon.”

The comments section saw plenty of accounts deride Watters. One account wrote: “Watters needs some DOGING.”
Another person wrote: “@JesseBWatters hands down is the stupidest person to ever be on TV.” Another person, meanwhile, shared an unfortunate story about one of their friends.
