“Not only have y’all changed my life, you’ve changed her life in ways that we can’t even describe,” Jelly Roll told the sold-out crowd in Georgia.

Along with being one of music’s fastest-rising stars, Jelly Roll is also a proud dad to teenage daughter Bailee Ann and young son Noah.

Jelly Roll is currently on the road on his Backroad Baptism Tour, and the singer got to share a very special moment with Bailee during a recent show in Georgia.

Performed Duet With His 15-Year-Old Daughter Bailee Ann

Speaking to fans during the concert, Jelly Roll explained that the show was a special one because he was able to have family attend.

“I grew up in Nashville, Tennessee about two and a half hours up the street from here, and I got family that’s from Newnan, Georgia,” he shared. “So it’s very seldom that I get a moment in life where I get to have my family out with me because I’m close enough to home. Tonight my 15-year-old daughter, Ms. Bailee Ann is with me.”

“Changed Her Life In Ways That We Can’t Even Describe”

As Bailee arrived on stage, Jelly Roll told the crowd, “Not only have y’all changed my life, you’ve changed her life in ways that we can’t even describe. I can’t thank you enough. What I’m fixing to ask you all for is kind of selfish of me, but can we have a daddy and daughter moment on this stage?”

“Sounds like a yes,” Bailee said as the audience cheered in approval.

Jelly Roll went on to explain how music has long been a part of his daughter’s life and how her talent made it onto one of his albums.

“A few years back, Bailee came to me and said that she wanted to do a song, and she told me she wanted to use writing as a means of therapy,” he said. “She was probably 10 years old, nine years old at the time. And I said, ‘Well, I’d love for you to write something and if it’s good, we’ll put it on my album.’ And a few years back we did. This is the song we wrote. She wrote this song, it’s called ‘Tears Could Talk.’”

The duo went on to perform the track, which reflects on how difficult it can be to move on from a low period in life.

“If these tears could talk / I wonder what they’d say,” the chorus reads. “All the times we lost / We lose ourselves along the way.”

Daughter Inspired His New Album

Bailee has performed “Tears Could Talk,” from Jelly Roll’s 2010 album A Beautiful Disaster, with her dad on multiple occasions. She also served as a major inspiration for her dad’s latest album, WHITSITT CHAPEL.

In an interview with Billboard, Jelly Roll shared that his friends took him to church when he was 14, and last year, Bailee began attending a small church with her friends and asked her dad to come along.

“That little back-road church reminded me so much of this little church, and it was just so nostalgic because Bailee’s getting in trouble [and] smoking weed,” Jelly Roll said. “She’s going through what 15-year-olds go through. I went through all that. I know that’s whenever my life turned all the way worse. It started bringing up all these emotions of me being right there on that fence.”

After joining Bailee at church, Jelly Roll scrapped the majority of songs he had planned for his next album and created what became Whitsitt Chapel. Released in June, the album contains Jelly Roll’s second country No. 1 song, “Need A Favor,” and his latest single, the Lainey Wilson collaboration “Save Me.”
