Picture you as the Buffalo Bills’ starting quarterback signing a $258 million contract extension for the next six years and thinking you are winning the lottery. At the time, Josh Allen was acknowledged with the quarterback with the highest contract extension in NFL history. In just three years, he now ranks No. 13 in the list of highest-paid quarterback in the NFL. Since he got his renewal, multiple quarterbacks got the same treatment and each one of them got a higher paycheck than the last one. Allen was recently asked about this during a recent interview with News 4 Buffalo. He got really honest about these contract extensions.

Allen genuinely told what he thinks when asked about this uptick of contract extensions with wild numbers being thrown around. He said: “Listen, everyone’s going to have their day. I’m happy that everyone’s getting what they’re worth, right? And I think that as the game progresses and guys keep getting paid again. The market is the market. I’ve got no problem with where I’m at right now. You know, I had my day a couple years ago, and I’m sure someday I’ll have it again, you know. But I think the main thing is the main thing, and it’s playing football to the best of my ability, and everything else will take care of itself.”

When does Josh Allen get a contract extension?

Currently, Allen is about to start the fourth year of his six-year contract and he doesn’t seem like he will push for a new contract extension to happen until year 5. Plus, there are many more great quarterbacks who are about to get their own contract extensions and we hae a feeling that many different records will be broken constantly. Plus, he might also want to wait a little bit until Patrick Mahomes starts seeing everybody getting more money than him and he starts pushing for a contract extension. The best moe is to wait for Pat and then aske for your own extension. That will leave Josh with a better chance to stay with the highest-paid record for the longer time.
