Let’s take a moment to remember the unforgettable night when Kris Kristofferson shared the stage with his daughter, Kelly, in a performance that brought the house down!
While on stage, Kris Kristofferson shared his love for outlaw country music by releasing iconic songs like “For the Good Times” and “Riders in the Sky.” Although holding a career in music for numerous decades, the country star also expanded into the movie industry. He starred in films including Blume in Love and A Star Is Born. But outside of the studio and silver screen, Kristofferson nurtured a loving family that included several children. And for his daughter, Kelly Kristofferson, she once got the chance to perform alongside her dad back in 2013.
Seeming to follow in her father’s footsteps, Kelly dabbled in both singing and acting throughout her career in the spotlight. But back in 2013, she traveled to Florida to take part in the Magnolia Festival. But instead of performing by herself, Kris decided to take the stage with her to perform “The Pilgrim, Chapter 33.” While Kris passed away back in September, the video continue to showcase the legacy he left behind and his love for family.
Gaining praise from fans, comments read, “Just love this, bet they are both mighty proud of each other in the best sense.” And one person added, “Saw them in Aberdeen sing this, they were great together, she smiled the whole time in the presence of her father – so lovely to be there.”
Kris Kristofferson Helped Raise 8 Children
Although seeming to enjoy the spotlight, not all of his children wanted to be famous. For Casey, the daughter of Kristofferson and signer Rita Coolidge, she wanted a normal childhood away from the cameras. “After being raised on the road, I have always avoided the spotlight. I gravitated more towards the punk rock scene, classical ballet, and music. Almost anything to not be recognized just for my name.”
That appeared to change in 2019 when Casey decided to form her own band. She eventually released her debut album Dirty Feet while explaining why it took so long for her to take the stage. “When the kids were little and I was dancing I didn’t have a lot of time to do music.”
Helping raise eight children throughout his life, Kristofferson’s legacy continues on as his family looked to honor his life and contributions to country music.
