Bad luck seems to be following the Los Angeles Lakers. After their schedule was changed due to the devastating fires in Southern California, the team reported that several of their players are injured for Monday’s game at the Crypto.com Arena.

The Lakers last played on Tuesday, January 7, in a disappointing 118-97 loss to the Dallas Mavericks, who traveled to Los Angeles without their stars Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. The performance set off alarms among media and fans due to the team’s poor showing.

Head coach J.J. Redick’s team will get a chance to redeem themselves on Monday against the San Antonio Spurs, but they’ll have to do so with LeBron James not at 100% due to injury, as well as some key backups.

The Los Angeles Lakers’ Injury List

According to the Lakers’ injury report, “King” James is still nursing a left foot injury. Although the star forward is listed as “probable,” he is expected to lead the team on Monday’s game against the Spurs.

Anthony Davis, who is suffering from plantar fasciitis, is also listed as probable. Meanwhile, Bronny James is labeled “questionable” due to an unspecified illness, so he is not expected to step onto the court tonight.

The report confirmed that Jarred Vanderbilt, Jalen Hood-Schifino, and Christian Wood will not play against the Spurs. Wood and Hood-Schifino could return to play on Wednesday, January 15, while Vanderbilt will not return before Friday, January 17.

The Lakers’ Schedule

Los Angeles still has a game against the Charlotte Hornets and the first game of the series against the Spurs pending. After today’s game, the team will host the Miami Heat and the Brooklyn Nets, and will close the week by visiting the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday.

Although the injury report indicates that LeBron and Davis are being evaluated day by day, it seems certain that both will take the court tonight against the Spurs. The team has made progress in fits and starts this season and needs a winning streak to reach the top of the Western Conference.
