The death of British singer Liam Payne on October 16 caused a strong shock, especially among the artist’s followers. At only 31 years of age, the musician lost his life after falling from a third floor in a hotel in Buenos Aires. As one of the members of the group One Direction, Payne had gained worldwide relevance.
More than two months after the event, the Argentine justice system is still investigating a case that left too many questions and very few answers. In the last few hours, according to the local press, it has been reported that five people have been prosecuted for the death of the singer. Likewise, Criminal and Correctional Court 34 ordered pre-trial detention for two of them and they have been summoned to appear within 24 hours at the court, as reported by Infobae
These two people are former waiter Braian Paiz and the employee of the hotel where Liam Payne died. Both are accused of a crime of drug supply for profit. Another of those charged is businessman Roger Nores for the crime of manslaughter. This person will not be allowed to leave the country for the time being and has been fined 50 million pesos
Liam Payne received ‘at least’ four supplies of drugs
The other two people are related to the hotel: Gilda Martin, the hotel manager present at the time of the British artist’s death, and Esteban Grassi, the business manager. “In the span of at least his last 72 hours, Payne’s body only showed traces of polyconsumption of alcohol, cocaine and a prescribed antidepressant,” the prosecutor’s office said in its investigation.
In addition, it has been confirmed that the musician was provided with “at least” four supplies of narcotics and other addictive substances. The autopsy confirmed that Liam Payne’s death was caused by “multiple injuries” and “internal and external haemorrhaging” caused by the fall from the third floor. The key is that he “may have fallen in a state of semi or total unconsciousness”.
