Former One Direction singer Liam Payne reportedly issued series of requests along with a devastating text message just hours before his tragic death aged 31
Liam Payne sent a series of devastating text messages just hours before his death, according to new reports.
The former One Direction singer tragically died on October 16 after falling from the third floor of a hotel. He had been staying at CasaSur Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina and died at the age of 31 from multiple injuries as well as internal and external bleeding caused by the fall, a post-mortem examination said.
After his death, police found substances in his hotel room as well as damaged objects and furniture, according to the public prosecutor’s office. Liam had been close to friend Roger Nores before his death and reportedly travelled to Argentina together. They had been spotted earlier in October at One Direction star Niall Horan’s concert in the country.
Liam is said to have stayed at the CasaSur Hotel alone, while Roger stayed elsewhere. According to new documents obtained by TMZ, Liam sent a text to Roger on the morning of his death. At 10pm the night before, the singer reportedly ordered four bottles of whiskey and then five more bottles at 6:36am the next day.

It has been claimed at 9:32am on the day of the tragedy, Liam text Roger: “Can you get 6 grams?” which presumably referred to cocaine. Reports have claimed the father-of-one was acting “erratically” in the hours before his death. At the time, hotel workers reported “an aggressive man who may have been under the effects of drugs and alcohol”.
Liam was also seen “acting erratically in the hotel lobby and smashed his laptop” before he was taken to his room. A hotel employee called 911, noting the singer was in a room with a balcony and expressing fear that he might attempt to escape. “I don’t know whether his life may be in danger. He is in a room with a balcony, and, well, we’re a little afraid,” the hotel employee stated during the call, according to the transcript.
Sadly, shortly after the call, workers said they heard a loud sound in the courtyard and Liam’s body was discovered shortly after 5pm local time. Following Liam’s death, authorities ruled out suicide, believing the singer was likely in a state of “semi or total unconsciousness” at the time of his fall.
New reports have suggested Liam attempted an escape route involving the balcony, leading to a tragic fall. His body was found with a bag that was not present when he was taken to his room from the lobby. Liam may have planned his descent in stages as a second-floor hotel guest discovered a leather bag containing pills, a bottle of Jack Daniel’s, and a note labelled “for Liam” on their balcony.
Investigators believe the bag, identified as the singer’s and not the one found next to his body, was lowered to the second-floor balcony as part of his attempted escape. Three people have been charged in relation to Liam’s death
