The Dallas Mavericks are reportedly offering season ticket holders refunds due to their dissatisfaction over the stunning Luka Doncic blockbuster trade.

Just after midnight on Sunday, the Mavericks shocked the world by trading Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers in a three-team deal involving the Utah Jazz. As part of the return, Dallas got All-Star big man Anthony Davis from Los Angeles.

On Tuesday, reports surfaced about the Mavericks offering refunds to disgruntled fans who canceled their season tickets. Apparently, this was indeed the case for at least one Dallas supporter.

Per Paul Livengood of WFAA, the Mavericks said in a statement they haven’t made a “determination” relating to ticket prices for next season, though they will listen to members who have any issues:

“Regarding tickets, no determination has been made about season ticket pricing for the 2025-26 Season. Season ticket members will hear from their reps over the next few weeks.

Regarding refunds, we value every season ticket member relationship and reps are available to take calls from members with any concerns or questions.“

But Livengood heard through one Mavericks season ticket holder that they were indeed issued a refund after speaking to a team representative. The fan was informed that they’ll receive a refund check, with their tickets canceled for the remainder of 2024-25 home games.

“However, we did hear from at least one season ticket holder who asked for a ticket cancellation and will be getting a refund, according to an email correspondence between the ticket holder and a team employee.”

So, to any other Dallas fans who want to cancel their season ticket plans following the Luka Doncic trade, you should contact the team reps. You just might end up being heard and understood like one fan did.

Luka Doncic Trade Makes Zero Sense For Mavericks

Mavs GM Nico Harrison defended the decision to trade the 25-year-old superstar, citing Davis’ strong defensive play and claiming “Defense wins championships.” Still, this is an underwhelming return for a top-five player in the game.

If Dallas hadn’t rushed to make a trade, they could have gotten a monumental return to help them win now and over the long run. As good as Davis is, he’s six years younger and far more injury-prone than Doncic, and the trade hurts Dallas more in the short term and the long term.
