Paige Bueckers is the name to watch for the WNBA Draft in April as questions continue to swirl regarding what she will decide to do.

The Dallas Wings have the first overall pick and should the UConn Huskies star be available, it is expected she will be taken at that spot.

However online talk is focused on whether Bueckers will even make herself available for the draft or stay in college for another year. There are also questions over whether Bueckers might pull an Eli Manning and simply refuse to play for the Wings in hopes of engineering a move to the Los Angeles Sparks.

Back in the 2004 NFL Draft, Manning let it be known that he would not play for the San Diego Chargers, who had the first overall pick, and engineered a move to the New York Giants.

Fans question Bueckers

While time will tell how the situation plays out, fans are already having their say. Some have made it clear that there would be plenty of criticism for someone like Caitlin Clark if she tried to orchestrate such a move.

“Imagine if Caitlin Clark had done this. She would have been savaged if Clark had done such a thing,” a fan said in response to a video by Mick Talks Hoops on YouTube regarding the situation.

Another wrote: “Can anyone imagine a class act like CC22 ‘big timing’ anyone?”

In the meantime, Bueckers remains focused on improving her game and recently talked about how she is trying to be more aggressive on the court while maintaining her role within the team.

“It is going well,” Bueckers said last week via USA Today’s ‘For The Win.’ “It is all a toss-up because you don’t want to get outside of yourself and outside of the team and start shot-hunting.

“But I’m looking to be aggressive first and look for my shot, and that leads to distribution to others and getting my teammates open. I think I’ve done a pretty good job. I’m growing every single day.”
