Back-to-back champion Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs is set to begin his eighth NFL season, his seventh as the starting quarterback, after spending his rookie year on the bench.
Since winning his first Super Bowl in 2020, Mahomes proposed to his high school sweetheart, Brittany Matthews, in a suite at Arrowhead Stadium, the same day he received his Super Bowl LIV championship ring.
Since then, Mahomes has won two more Super Bowls, has had two children, and is expecting a third. He could also achieve a third consecutive Super Bowl victory this season, which would make the Chiefs the first team in NFL history to do so.
Brittany’s Birthday Celebration Amidst Rumors
Brittany Mahomes has been in the spotlight not just for being by Patrick’s side, but also for the backlash she received for her public support of Donald Trump. In response to the criticism, she stated, “Honestly, I don’t give a f*** what people have to say about me anymore,” a fitting sentiment given the circumstances.
However, this time, she’s focused on celebrating her 29th birthday with family and friends. Patrick shared a heartfelt birthday post on Instagram with three photos and the caption, “My heart, Happy birthday!”
Brittany has played a significant role in Mahomes’ success, being his motivator and seeing him as a hero and a leader because of his dedication and discipline. Despite rumors of a potential rift with Taylor Swift over Brittany’s support for Donald Trump and not inviting her to the celebration, it seems Brittany remains focused on her family and her pregnancy.
Their third child is expected to be born in February, possibly close to the Super Bowl date which is on 9 February 2025 at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
Mahomes and Chiefs Ready for the NFL Season
Last season, Mahomes threw for 4,183 yards and 27 touchdowns, even in what was considered one of his least productive years.
Yet, the team still reached their goal. With Travis Kelce continuing to dominate, and the emergence of Rashee Rice, who set a record for most postseason receptions by a rookie (26), Mahomes is poised to surpass 5,000 passing yards and 35 touchdown passes this season.
His new offensive core, including Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, who will miss the first few weeks, the deep-threat rookie Xavier Worthy, and the return of JuJu Smith-Schuster, gives him a strong foundation to achieve this.
