Nobody could’ve guessed that Brittany Mahomes and Patrick Mahomes would be a thing when they first met in high school.
In the NFL, Brittany and Patrick Mahomes are quite a powerful couple, but it did not always start like that.
On Wednesday, Brittany shed light on their early years in the latest episode of “Whoop.”
When host Will Ahmed asked Brittany to share details about how she and Mahomes started dating, she spoke about the corny things he would try and do:
“We were friends for a really long time, obviously, and he was trying to date me. I was staying in my Lane, being my own thing, doing my own thing, and he one day at lunch, because we sat at the same lunch table every day, was trying to be corny, I guess, you could say. And wrote me a Valentine’s letter and brought me a rose and it was so cute.”
It may have been corny then, but Brittany stated they would eventually begin dating.
Britanny continued, “I thought it was the cutest thing in the world, and he was just being sarcastic.” And so I appreciated how he tried to do something very kind, and I believe from there we just continued chatting and eventually dating.”
Will also asked Brittany whether it was ‘the’ moment she knew the relationship was going to last,’ to which she immediately answered, “No.”
Brittany explained, “Because we were 16 and not thinking about the future. He was a sophomore, I was a junior, and we were still in high school. We didn’t expect it to develop into this, but I’m pleased it did.” We are having a great time together.”
She’s not wrong. Kids, as teenagers, do not think a relationship in high school is going to lead to long-term marriages and kids in the future, but it clearly worked out for both of them.
Brittany Mahomes Has Learned to Stop Caring About The Opinions of Others
Brittany Mahomes has come a long way from lashing out about people having negative opinions about her.
Mahomes stated in a recent episode of the WHOOP podcast that her husband, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, taught her to stop caring about what people think.
“I think the main thing that he always told me is stop caring about what people think, especially the people that don’t even know you,” Mahomes said on the show, admitting that “social media used to get to me a lot.”
“Now, it’s just like, honestly, I don’t give a f— what people have to say about me anymore.”
