Sheryl Swoopes still downplay Caitlin Clark for Angel Reese amid recent Sky loss and difference in performance of the two Rookies

There is nothing but love between Sheryl Swoopes and Chicago Sky star Angel Reese after the pair shared a picture on social media.

Swoopes was one of the 18,000 people in attendance at T-Mobile Arena in Nevada as the Sky took on the Las Vegas Aces.

Reese delivered another stellar performance, finishing the game with 12 points and 16 rebounds. It was her 25th double-double of the season, though it wasn’t enough to help Chicago to victory, as they fell 90-71 to the Aces.

Nevertheless, that didn’t stop Reese from taking selfie alongside Swoopes, which she later shared via Instagram Stories.

“TEARS, LAUGHTER, AND SMILES WITH THE GOAT TODAY WAS MUCH NEEDED,” Reese wrote in her post.

“LOVE YOU FOREVER @AIRSWOOPES,” the former LSU Tigers star added.

The defeat means the Sky are now winless in their last seven games, and now sit tied in the eighth spot with an 11-22 record with the Atlanta Dream, meaning their playoff hopes sit in the balance.

Swoopes in the headline

While Swoopes was all but happy to take a selfie with Reese, she has been in the headlines for a very different reason in recent days.

Never one to hold back with an opinion, Swoopes was criticized by Stephen A. Smith when she failed to mention Caitlin Clark’s name when listing the reasons for the Indiana Fever’s recent improved play.

“You know good and damn well, you had no business talking about the Indiana Fever without mentioning Caitlin Clark,” said Smith.

This prompted a response from Swoopes, who was also criticized by Nancy Lieberman, who said that “my life is good or great with or without Sheryl Swoopes.”

“Now here you go! I get what you’re trying to do with ya boy @stephenasmith, but it ain’t working. You know good and well what happened. And ditto… my life is good without you too (and him). You wanna go there?,” Swoopes wrote on X a few hours later.
