‘The View’ Takes Over Weekends With New Streaming Series
ABC’s hit daytime talk show The View is expanding beyond its weekday slot with an all-new weekend edition. The network announced The Weekend View, a fresh spin-off that will bring fans more “Hot Topics” and lively discussions every Saturday and Sunday.
The new 30-minute show debuts on January 11 and will feature the same high-energy conversations viewers love, but with a weekend twist. The Weekend View will be hosted by The View’s Friday panel, including moderator Joy Behar and co-hosts Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Ana Navarro. Whoopi Goldberg will continue leading the weekday discussions from Monday to Thursday.
What to Expect From ‘The Weekend View’
ABC promises that The Weekend View will focus on the biggest entertainment stories and viral news trending across social media.
Unlike the politically charged discussions that dominate weekday episodes, the weekend version will take a lighter approach. Expect conversations on celebrity gossip, pop culture, and the latest buzzworthy moments in TV, film, and music.
Brian Teta, the executive producer of The View, expressed excitement about the expansion. “The View has been thriving on multiple platforms—TV, podcasts, YouTube. Now, we’re giving fans exclusive content on the weekends through ABC News Live.”
Karin Gilford, senior vice president of Digital Media for ABC News Group, emphasized that the weekend edition will match the tone of other ABC News Live programming. “It’s a more relaxed feel, still covering the major stories of the week, but with a different tone,” she said. “The format stays the same—‘Hot Topics’ and discussions—but we’ll lean more into entertainment and lifestyle content on weekends.”
Celebrity Takes and Pop Culture Debates
Longtime fans of The View can expect the co-hosts to dive deep into their favorite celebrity moments.
Sunny Hostin has been vocal about her admiration for Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s romance. Ana Navarro often shares personal stories about her friendships with stars like Eva Longoria and Gloria Estefan. Meanwhile, Alyssa Farah Griffin, a self-proclaimed Swiftie, frequently discusses reality TV, including The Real Housewives and Dancing With the Stars.
With The Weekend View, these personalities will have even more time to debate the latest Hollywood drama, viral moments, and social media trends.
How to Watch
The Weekend View will stream exclusively on ABC News Live, with new episodes airing every Saturday at 7:30 a.m. ET and Sundays at 9:30 a.m. ET.
For longtime viewers of The View, this expansion means even more access to the opinions and debates that make the show a cultural phenomenon. Whether discussing the latest political shake-up or the hottest celebrity headlines, the View team is now set to dominate the conversation seven days a week.
