Edward’s mother Lily died mysteriously in her sleep, leaving her son deeply shaken and filled with questions. Edward did not understand how his father, Mark, could be so calm after the tragedy. Mark decided not to investigate the cause of death and buried Lily the next day, ignoring his son’s persistent questions. Edward, unable to find peace, was filled with anger and distrust. He was determined to find out the truth about his mother’s death, no matter the consequences.
With unrelenting determination, Edward headed to the cemetery the next day. There, he began digging his mother’s grave, despite the protests of the guard Robert, who tried to stop him. “You can’t do this!” Robert shouted, but Edward did not stop. He felt he had to know what had really happened. The situation soon became complicated when police officers arrived, called by Robert to contain the chaos. Edward tearfully explained his desperation and his suspicions that something was not right. The police, seeing his distress, decided to allow him to open the coffin.
With shaking hands, Edward opened the lid of the coffin and was horrified to discover that his mother was not dead. Lily was still alive, in a deep coma, her heart beating and breathing. Police acted quickly, rushing Lily to hospital, where doctors confirmed that she had not died, but was in a sedative-induced coma. Tests revealed that the sedatives had been purchased by Mark, her husband.
The investigation revealed that Mark had followed the instructions of his lover, who planned to kill Lily for money. Both were arrested and convicted of attempted murder. Lily was released from the hospital and returned home, where she was greeted by an emotional Edward. The reunion was filled with tears and hugs, as mother and son celebrated his recovery and the reestablishment of their bond. Together they began a new stage in their lives, leaving the darkness behind and looking towards a future full of hope and love.
