Travis Kelce excited about Win & New Record in today’s game without Taylor Swift in attendance

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce came into the locker room in high spirits after helping lead his team to a 17-10 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium. Kelce, who recorded over 100 yards in today’s game, broke the Kansas City Chiefs’ all-time reception record early in the first quarter.

His 97th reception in red and white surpassed the previous franchise record of 916 catches, held by Hall of Fame tight end Tony Gonzalez.

Kelce’s performance was a significant improvement from his previous three games, where he managed just eight receptions for 69 yards and no touchdowns — numbers low by his usual standards.

However, he bounced back in a big way against the Chargers, surpassing 100 receiving yards and securing the new receptions record.Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce's Relationship: A Timeline

In addition to the Chiefs’ reception record, Kelce already holds postseason records for touchdowns (19), receptions (165), and receiving yards (1,910). His dominant postseason numbers further solidify his legacy as one of the greatest tight ends in NFL history.

Despite Kelce’s recent spotlight due to his connection with pop star Taylor Swift, she was absent from today’s game — her second consecutive miss after attending the Chiefs’ first two matchups of the season. Her absence, however, didn’t dampen Kelce’s spirits or performance.

Before today’s game, Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice, alongside other teammates, showed their support for Kelce by donning retro-style jerseys featuring a collage of images of the tight end. The jerseys, emblazoned with “Travis” in red and “Dreamon” in gold across the back, were distributed by Rice to honor their leader and mentor.

Kelce’s leadership, both on and off the field, continues to be a driving force for the Chiefs, who improved to a 4-0 record with today’s win. The victory came after previous wins over the Baltimore Ravens (27-20), Cincinnati Bengals (26-25), and Atlanta Falcons (22-7).

As the Chiefs continue their undefeated start to the season, Kelce remains a central figure in the team’s success, and today’s historic performance cements his legacy in Kansas City.
