Marsha Kearney, the mother of Kansas City Chiefs star wide receiver Rashee Rice, is being accused of stealing a package from a neighbor who claims to have surveillance footage of the incident.
According to TMZ Sports, the alleged incident occurred on Sunday after Rashee Rice suffered a serious knee injury in the Chiefs’ Week 4 game against the Los Angeles Chagers at SoFi Stadium.
Kearney allegedly stole a package of Chappell Roan records from a neighbor’s porch. The neighbor claims to have surveillance footage of the incident, which shows Kearney wearing a Chiefs jersey:
Here’s more from TMZ Sports’ report:
We’re told the owner had purchased two limited-edition Chappell Roan vinyls from Urban Outfitters…and attempted to resolve the issue with Kearney, Rice and their apartment complex leasing office in hopes of getting the items back — with no luck.
TMZ Sports reached out to law enforcement…who confirmed a report was made on Wednesday regarding the alleged theft.”
We’ll be sure to provide more details on this matter when they become available.
Rashee Rice was involved in a hit and run in Dallas, Texas, in March and later turned himself in to the police. The second-year wide receiver was hit with eight charges, including six counts of collision involving injury.Police also investigated an accusation that Rice punched a photographer in a Dallas club, but the alleged victim refused to press charges. Though Rice’s hit-and-run incident didn’t result in a suspension this year, there’s a strong possibility that he’ll be banned for multiple games in 2025.
Initially, it was believed that Rashee Rice suffered a season-ending ACL tear in Sunday’s 17-10 win over the Chargers. The Chiefs are still awaiting official word on the severity of the injury, though no news seems to be good news at this time.
Rashee Rice Has Emerged As Patrick Mahomes’ Top WR
The Chiefs drafted Rice in the second round (55th overall) in 2023. He played a pivotal role in their successful Super Bowl 58 championship defense, finishing the year with 79 receptions for 938 yards and seven touchdowns.
Rice is also the Chiefs’ leading receiver through four weeks with 24 receptions for 288 yards and two touchdowns. With Rice sidelined indefinitely, Kansas City needs its other pass-catchers to step up in his absence.
