Lawrence Jones Joins Fox & Friends as New Co-Host, Receiving Warm Reception from Fans

Lawrence Jones has officially started his new role as a co-host on Fox & Friends, receiving praise from viewers as he joined the show for the first time on Monday.

Jones, who is now the fourth permanent co-host for the popular Fox News morning program, will join Steve Doocy, Ainsley Earhardt, and Brian Kilmeade for the weekday show, which airs from 6-9am.

On his first day, Jones expressed his excitement and gratitude through a heartfelt Instagram post, thanking his fans for their overwhelming support. He wrote, “I can’t thank y’all enough for all the love,” as fans flooded the comments with congratulatory messages.

One viewer shared their excitement, saying, “You’re the future of Fox News! I hope you have a long, successful career,” while another added, “Love this guy.”

Although Jones is just now stepping into the co-host role, his relationship with Fox News dates back to 2018, where he has worked in several capacities. In addition to his new role on Fox & Friends, Jones has hosted his own weekend program, Lawrence Jones Cross Country, since 2022. However, following this change, Cross Country will come to an end and be replaced by One Nation with Brian Kilmeade. Despite this shift, Jones will continue contributing to the network as an enterprise reporter.

Some fans expressed sadness at the end of Cross Country, with one fan commenting, “Well deserved but I sure will miss all the good you did on Cross Country.” Another said, “One of the best…but I will definitely miss Cross Country!”

In a statement to Variety, Jones shared his enthusiasm for his new role, saying, “I am honored to become a part of the cable news legacy Fox News has created with ‘Fox & Friends,’ the very show where I made my first-ever national television appearance. It is truly a privilege to inform our audience every day, and I can’t wait to do so each morning.”

Fox News executives also expressed excitement about Jones’ new role. Gavin Hadden, senior vice president of morning programming at Fox News, said, “Lawrence has his finger on the pulse of what matters to communities across America, and his insight has proved invaluable to the ‘Fox & Friends’ audience. We look forward to welcoming him to our family as he wakes up America alongside our star co-hosts each morning.”

Jones has also previously filled in for Tucker Carlson in the 8pm time slot following Carlson’s departure in May, further solidifying his role within the Fox News team.
