Bad Boys 4: Will Smith Teases Sequel with Fun On-Set Photos of Him and Martin Lawrence

‘Bad Boys 4’ is scheduled for release June 7

Will Smith is taking fans behind the scenes of Bad Boys 4.

Days after Smith, 55, revealed on Instagram that he and Martin Lawrence finally wrapped filming on the anticipated sequel, the actor shared some photos from the making of the film.

“Miami roll,” Smith wrote in a caption to his Instagram carousel, which included photos of him and Lawrence, 58, posing with rapper Fat Joe on set, a photo of Smith with musician and DJ Skrillex and a video of a peacock strutting around in a field.

The actor’s post included photos of his costars Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig and Paola Núnez posing by the water in Miami, as well as a video of him and Lawrence.

Finally, Smith shared a video showing behind-the-scenes footage of him eating spaghetti with his hands after he first shared a video of him eating spaghetti on Feb. 19, which seemingly poked fun at previous artificial intelligence-generated footage of him.

“WRAPPED! Nothin’ but Magic every time I’m with my guy. See y’all June 7 for @BADBOYS 4!!,” Smith previously wrote on Instagram Monday, as he announced filming on the latest Bad Boys movie completed. The movie will mark Smith and Lawrence’s fourth appearances as Miami detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett, who investigate drug trafficking and other crimes throughout the series.

The first Bad Boys movie released in 1995 and spawned a 2003 sequel, Bad Boys II. The third installment, Bad Boys for Life, released in 2020. Smith and Lawrence first revealed they were making Bad Boys 4 in January 2023 and were seen filming the movie in Atlanta as far back as April of last year.

The new film is directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, who took over the series with its 2020 entry; Michael Bay directed the first two Bad Boys movies. The movie’s production was delayed several months by 2023’s SAG-AFTRA strike, which ran from July to November 2023.

The new Bad Boys movie will also feature Melanie Liburd. She and Smith were seen filming what appeared to be a wedding scene in Miami on Feb 23. Jacob Scipio, Eric Dane and Ioan Gruffudd are also expected to appear in the film.

Bad Boys 4 opens in theaters June 7.
