The song, titled Carnival, quickly garnered the attention of the fans at the event and online because of its lyrics. In the song, West reportedly raps about Bill Cosby and billionaire Elon Musk. However, Ye’s most shocking namedrop comes in the form of singer-songwriter Taylor Swift.
“I mean, since Taylor Swift, since I had the Rollie on the wrist/ I’m the new Jesus, b**ch, I turn water into crisp.”

West can be heard rapping the above lines, referencing his past feud with Swift, in the new song. Swift is mentioned in the song nearly eight years after West similarly name-dropped her in one of his prior songs. Kanye West Mentioned Taylor Swift in Famous Eight Years Ago

In his song Famous, Kanye West rapped about Taylor Swift for the first time. West released the song as a part of his The Life of Pablo album. In the song, West sings the following lines:
“For all my South Side n****s that know me best/ I feel like me and Taylor might still have s*x/ Why? I made that b***h famous.”
The lyrics were interpreted to be a reference to West interrupting Swift’s 2009 VMA acceptance speech. At the time, West stated he had sought Swift’s blessings to include the lyrics in the song. Moreover, the music video for Famous also features a nude Swift look-alike in bed with West.

However, Swift has denied approving the lyrics and called a phone recording of her conversation with West about the song fabricated. The song sparked a feud between West and Swift that has continued till today.
Most recently, Swift addressed the controversial lyrics in an interview with Time in December 2023.
“You have a fully manufactured frame job, in an illegally recorded phone call, which Kim Kardashian edited and then put out to say to everyone that I was a liar. That took me down psychologically to a place I’ve never been before.”
Swift made the following statement in response to the controversy stemming from the lyrics of Famous. As a result, it seems West’s new song, which once again references Swift is a response to her most recent comments about him.
