Apart from Zendaya’s immaculate performance in the role of Rue Bennet, another major factor for Euphoria’s enormous success was the performance of Sydney Sweeney as Cassie Howard. Even though the actress has garnered tremendous success from her role in the HBO show and also earned an Emmy nomination under her belt. The actress believes that her achievements are often overlooked due to her explicit scenes.

Even though the actress previously clarified that she feels comfortable while performing most n*de scenes, there are certain times, when the actress is left disgusted by some of them. And following her minute hesitancy, Sweeney thought she was getting fired from the show.

Sydney Sweeney was assured that she was getting fired from Euphoria

While sharing her viewpoint on the fame she has garnered through her performance in HBO’s Euphoria, Sydney Sweeney expressed that she initially thought that she was getting fired from the show. After reading the script for season 2 of the show, Sweeney was assured that Sam Levinson was getting rid of her character, considering that Sweeney previously expressed her hesitancy with certain explicit scenes.

Fortunately, Sweeney turned out wrong, as after the cameras rolled, the Euphoria actress realized that her character wasn’t going to get killed. She said,
“I thought that Sam was killing me. I thought that I was going to get killed. When I read it, I thought that Cassie was getting killed off. I was really bummed. But then it turned into this weirdly sensual, dangerous connection between these two characters. And it became what it became. And the hanging out the window, actually, was just me hanging out the window. It was just random and very ‘in the moment’.”
Even though the actress was grateful for not being exiled from the show and was mostly fine while performing most of the explicit scenes. However, it wasn’t always the case like that.

Sydney Sweeney was hesitant about certain explicit scenes in Euphoria

Although Sydney Sweeny previously shared that she was comfortable doing most of the n*de scenes, there were certain times, when the actress felt disgusted over certain sequences. The actress also expressed her distaste for people overlooking her acting skills over her n*de sequences and urged Sam Levinson to change some sequences where she felt n*dity wasn’t required. She said,
“There are moments where [my character] Cassie was supposed to be shirtless and I would tell Sam, ‘I don’t really think that’s necessary here,’”

Despite a few issues during the production of the show, Sydney Sweeney has often commended Sam Levinson and her crew. Apart from the character of Cassie Howard, Sweeney will also be appearing in Sony’s upcoming Madame Web, where she is reportedly playing the role of Spider-Woman.
