Chris Hemsworth has cemented his top-shelf spot in Hollywood as a leading star. The actor has continued to deliver power-packed performances in his movies and has dazzled the audience with his striking on-screen presence. Hemsworth has worked and collaborated with some of the top creative visionaries on their big-budgeted projects, allowing him to showcase his expertise and talents.

The actor gained superstardom for effectively portraying the famous Marvel comic character, Thor, AKA God of Thunder, starting with the 2011 superhero movie Thor. He then reprised his role in several Marvel Cinematic Universe projects and received critical acclaim for his extraordinary performances.

While many of his films have earned millions of dollars at the box office, few of his projects have failed to make a good impression amongst the audience and critics. In 2015, he starred in the action thriller Blackhat, which underperformed and lost a whopping amount. The movie director, Michael Mann, recently shared why his film failed. He said he took full accountability for its failure, saying it shouldn’t have gone into production because the script was not ready to shoot.

The star-studded film failed to leave a mark, was a major letdown at the box office, and was a critical and commercial failure. In a recent interview with Variety, the film director Mann claimed that he thinks he is responsible for its flop, expressing,
“It’s my responsibility. The script was not ready to shoot. The subject may have been ahead of the curve because there were a number of people who thought this was all fantasy. Wrong. Everything is stone-cold accurate.”
Chris Hemsworth-led Blackhat movie amassed only $19.6 million at the global box office against a budget of $70 million. The project was a commercial failure, receiving 32% ratings at Rotten Tomatoes.

In an interview with Collider, Chris Hemsworth shares his experience working with award-winning director Michael Mann in his 2015 action thriller directorial. When asked what appealed to him to work in the movie, the actor replied,
“Michael did. Michael is one of my favorite filmmakers. I’ve grown up watching his films, and so, even before I’d read the script, I was pretty much talked into the thing. Then, I read the script, and it was a subject that I certainly hadn’t been involved in on screen. In my life, it was something that was fairly new to me. I was pretty limited in my digital-cyber involvement. It fascinated me.”
The titular movie boasts a stellar cast ensemble featuring Chris Hemsworth, Tang Wei, Viola Davis, and Wang Leehom. It earned mixed reviews from the audience and critics alike and was a box-office bomb, grossing less than $20 million against a budget of $70 million.
