Anthony Mackie wanted Marvel to try something between Sam Wilson and Black Widow.

Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Anthony Mackie is one of the primary actors in the present MCU as the new Captain America. Although there is time for this version of Captain America to get his solo venture, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier gave us a glimpse of Sam Wilson in action with the iconic Shield. Interestingly, during the promotional campaign for the Disney+ series, Mackie revealed that he wanted his character to have a romantic sub-plot with Black Widow.

During the promotional tour of his Disney+ series, Anthony Mackie admitted that he always wanted to do a romantic subplot with Johansson’s character.

The intricate interconnectivity between the MCU projects is one of the prime reasons behind its popularity. The audience loves the details and the points that are key in connecting the projects. Anthony Mackie told the Toronto Sun that the MCU cliffhangers always prepare the fans for something unpredictable in future Marvel movies. Even the actors don’t know about the future of their projects. But the question that always lingered in his mind was if his character falls in love with Black Widow.
“Every cliffhanger is a cliffhanger for everybody, except Kevin (Feige). But the question I always ask is: Do I fall in love with the Black Widow? When does that storyline come in? Because I’ve requested that several times.”
Mackie’s Sam Wilson met Black Widow for the first time during the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It is difficult to guess if the Marvel fans even would have thought about a potential love story between Falcon and Black Widow. However, it would have been intriguing to see how the chemistry works out between the two.

Earlier, Anthony Mackie expressed how he was initially in “complete fear and horror” to get his Disney+ show. He admitted that nobody wanted to mess up a Marvel film. However, now he has got a more gigantic task of helming his solo film, Captain America: Brave New World. Chris Evans’ Captain America trilogy has been one of the most well-written series of films in the MCU. People still talk about the serious tonality in the films.

From the condition of the forthcoming film, the fans are now a bit doubtful if the fourth part with Sam Wilson’s Captain America can be a worthy successor to the past three films. Reportedly, the film will be going through several reshoots this year. According to ComicBookMovie.com, the Serpent Society will allegedly be entirely scrapped from the final cut. This is also bad news for all the WWE fanatics as Seth Rollins was also going to play a member of this supervillain team.

It must be noted that Serpent Society did not have a significant role and was only going to be a part of an action sequence, which means that their presence or absence may not have much of an impact. However, the reshoots being scheduled from May to August have raised many eyebrows. Reshoots are a norm in the MCU, but such an extensive schedule can be a bad sign for the film.
