And it was quite evident since the movie turned into a massive flop with a 25% RT rating. Their forgotten feud lurking beneath the surface of the film seems to have wrecked the movie’s potential.

Appearing together in the 2008 comedy Four Christmases, Reese Witherspoon, and Vince Vaughn tried to deliver a humble Christmas movie. But unfortunately, for the duo, their alleged feud came in between and turned their festive film into a major flop. Holding a meager 25% on Rotten Tomatoes, Four Christmases appeared destined to belong in the dustbin of history.

Evidently, the catastrophic failure turned out to be a result of a feud between Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn. While the duo played a self-involved couple in the movie, their joyless filming experience, came to the forefront without any filter. While narrating the upbeat story of a couple onscreen, the duo allegedly hated each other behind the scenes.

Although the duo played the role of a couple, they certainly failed in their attempt to convince their audience.

“Reese has an issue with the scripted love scene. It is meant to be a funny, American Pie-style romp, full of bumps and laughs, but Reese is such a prude, she thinks it’s just too much,” sources claimed.
Since Witherspoon and Vaughn failed to get along while filming, the actress refused to get down and dirty with the Wedding Crashers star. Months later, the actor took his revenge when he conveniently skipped out on press tours, leaving the heavy PR challenge on Witherspoon. Further, Vaughn didn’t even bother to show up during the premiere of Four Christmases.
