As per ‘Sliver’ director Phillip Noyce, Sharon Stone and Billy Baldwin’s feud originated because of Brad Pitt.
Appearing on the Louis Theroux podcast, as Sharon Stone took Hollywood by storm with her controversial claims of being forced to sleep with Billy Baldwin, new revelations suggest partial involvement of Brad Pitt in the picture. According to recent reports, it has been found out that Pitt supposedly had something to do with Stone and Baldwin’s rivalry.
Taking to the epicenter, Sliver director Phillip Noyce broke his silence on Sharon Stone and Billy Baldwin’s escalating feud. Dragging Brad Pitt into the war over allegations, Noyce reported that the initial disappointment began after Pitt refused to star alongside Stone in the box office bomb.
Sharon Stone’s Bombshell Revelation Surrounding Billy Baldwin
Following her career-launching performance in the 1992 erotic thriller Basic Instinct, Sharon Stone proceeded to appear in a similar movie – Sliver – in 1993. But unlike the first film, Phillip Noyce’s erotic thriller surprisingly turned into a traumatic experience for Stone. While the film failed to perform well at the box office, majorly because of Stone and Billy Baldwin’s lack of chemistry, the actress recently noted the reason behind it.
Ever since Sharon Stone and Billy Baldwin began working on Sliver, the duo have had a mutual hatred for each other. But recently, following Stone’s bombshell interview on the Louis Theroux podcast, people learned about the true reason behind the actress’ rage against Baldwin. Revealing awful incidents about being forced by producer Robert Evans to sleep with the actor to improve his lousy performance, Stone sparked controversies.

“He called me to his office. He had these very low ’70s, ’80s couches, so I’m essentially sitting on the floor when I should have been on set… he’s running around his office in sunglasses explaining to me that he slept with Ava Gardner and I should sleep with Billy Baldwin, because if I slept with Billy Baldwin, Billy Baldwin’s performance would get better, and we needed Billy to get better in the movie because that was the problem.”
Following Sharon Stone’s revelation, Billy Baldwin took the feud to the next level as he tweeted in his defense. Although Baldwin’s tweet backfired on him, causing people to call out the actor, Stone’s comments made headlines, leading more people to get involved in the squabble.
Sliver Director Phillip Noyce Dragged Brad Pitt Into the Feud
After Sharon Stone took a dig at Billy Baldwin’s performance and called out producer Robert Evans for his outrageous idea, Sliver director Phillip Noyce took to the epicenter of the controversy. Breaking his silence for the first time about the escalating feud between the stars, Noyce opened up about the partial involvement of Brad Pitt in the squabble.
Speaking with DailyMail, Phillip Noyce admitted that Sharon Stone had always had issues with Billy Baldwin. From the very beginning, the actress refused to star alongside the actor. Willing to work with other acclaimed stars, Stone made a fuss about Baldwin. Noyce then revealed how the actress specifically wanted Brad Pitt to star in Sliver, but as he turned down the movie, Stone caused even more tension.

“The two were not at all happy opposite each other. Sharon had always wanted Brad Pitt to play opposite her, so she was disappointed. I think she was genuinely regretful even that she’d taken the role. She was not at all happy on the movie.”
Discussing how Sharon Stone made it difficult for everyone on set to work properly, Phillip Noyce revealed how the actress made Billy Baldwin insecure. Recalling the animosity on the set, Noyce opened up about how Stone’s disappointment in Baldwin affected the actor’s performance even more.

“Some of Sharon’s close-ups had to be shot with a stand-in opposite her. There was such a great deal of animosity on set. Sharon’s open disdain for Billy resulted in him feeling extremely insecure.”
The director’s remarks came days after Sharon Stone’s bombshell interview. Surprisingly, Phillip Noyce dragged Brad Pitt into the epicenter of the feud, claiming how his refusal to appear in Sliver ultimately started the whole Stone vs Baldwin feud.
Sliver is available on Prime Video.
