Vikings Reportedly Turned Down Bengals Massive Trade Offer For Justin Jefferson & Fans Are Losing Their Minds

The Minnesota Vikings have been advised to trade WR Justin Jefferson for multiple first-round picks after Kirk Cousins decided to bolt from the franchise and sign with the Atlanta Falcons.

The Vikings made a late push to extend Justin Jefferson last offseason, and while both sides made it clear that they were fine with tabling talks until this year, that hasn’t stopped trade rumors from happening.

On X, a viral post caught the attention of NFL fans after it stated that the Vikings turned down the Cincinnati Bengals offer of multiple first-round picks and Tee Higgins for Justin Jefferson.

It ended with the post suggesting that the team would trade Jefferson for quarterback Joe Burrow.

While shocking, it is quite fake.

In reality, the Minnesota Vikings “have no plans to trade” wide receiver Justin Jefferson, according to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini and Alec Lewis.

The idea of Jefferson being traded picked up momentum this week when his former college teammate Ja’Marr Chase tweeted “this will be a krazy story to tell.”

The cryptic tweet led to speculation that he, Jefferson, and Joe Burrow, who were teammates at LSU, could be reunited in Cincinnati.

Former Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert tweeted that his sources were telling him that “Jefferson to Cincy is in motion.”

Adam Schefter reported on ESPN that Jefferson turned down an offer from Minnesota before the 2023 season that would’ve paid him $30 million annually. While that is a lot of money, $30 million per season would fall short of making him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the league.

He already stated during the NFL combine he wants to “break the bank.”
