While promoting Mark Wahlberg’s own athletic clothing brand, Municipal, on Instagram, as he often does, fans couldn’t help but notice him throwing shade at a certain golf club that denied him access until he swapped his black socks for white ones, a rule he found rather amusing, to say the least.

To dig deep into the matter, since his arriving in Sydney last month to film his new movie, Play Dirty, Wahlberg has been golfing quite a lot. Thus, Marky Mark, eager to jump onto golf in his free time as well, decided to go to the exclusive Elanora Country Club on the Northern Beaches of Sydney.

That’s when his black gym socks almost prevented him from playing golf because of their strict dress code policy, but he quickly changed into white ones just to appease the club’s dress code. However, he couldn’t resist holding onto the grudge and voiced his concerns on Instagram, stating,
“Socks not allowed on every golf course in Australia, believe it or not,–Some course requires you to wear white socks. These are gym socks, man! What?!”

Referring to the incident, General Manager Cathy Neagle told The Daily Telegraph,

Reflecting on the situation, it was apparent that the manager after all wasn’t at all sorry for their actions. This turned out to be a hilarious situation altogether, no doubt, leaving everyone in splits.
