During the shoot, a lioness was shot with a tranquilizer dart to fit a big cat in a tracking collar. However, things spiraled quickly when the lioness died after being tranquilized.

Oscar-winner was filming a documentary on conservation in Africa when the incident occurred. Botswana’s Department of Wildlife and National Parks had brought in an independent vet to investigate the sudden demise of the animal.
