After-party cancelled: What Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce did after the Super Bowl

After months of anticipation, the Kansas City Chiefs’ quest for an unprecedented Super Bowl three-peat ended in disappointment.

The team suffered a crushing 40-22 defeat against the Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans, extinguishing their championship hopes.

Among those hit hardest by the loss was Travis Kelce, who struggled to make an impact in what could be one of his final games on the NFL’s biggest stage.

Kelce’s Quiet Performance on the Biggest Night

Kelce, 35, had an unusually quiet night, failing to record a single reception in the first half—a rare occurrence for one of the league’s most dominant tight ends.

By the final whistle, he had managed just four catches for 39 yards, a stark contrast to his usual standout performances.

After the game, still dressed in his retro ’70s-inspired outfit, Kelce bypassed any team celebration and instead headed straight to Taylor Swift’s suite.

While the Chiefs had initially planned a post-game party, the somber mood in the locker room led to its cancellation.

Rather than celebrating another championship, the team was left reflecting on what went wrong, while Kelce chose to spend the night with Swift, who has been a constant presence at his games since they began dating in 2023.

Uncertainty Surrounds Kelce’s Future in the NFL

With speculation already swirling about Kelce’s future, the Super Bowl loss has only intensified the conversation. Though he has yet to make an official decision regarding retirement, he acknowledged before the game that he has been thinking about life after football.

“I love doing this. I love coming into work every day. I feel like I’ve still got a lot of good football left in me,” Kelce shared during Super Bowl Opening Night. “We’ll see what happens.”

With the offseason now underway, the biggest question looming over Kansas City is whether Kelce will return for another season or if this was his final appearance in a Chiefs uniform.

While the night didn’t end with a championship trophy, Kelce at least found comfort in the unwavering support of one of the world’s most influential pop stars, Taylor Swift.
