Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark’s end-of-season press conference went incredibly viral for several reasons.

Clark’s rookie season came to an end on Wednesday night as the Connecticut Sun completed a 2-0 sweep of the Indiana Fever.

In her final interview of the year, Caitlin Clark called out the trolls and denounced all forms of racism and hate directed at her WNBA peers following the Indiana Fever’s playoff elimination.

The Connecticut Sun handled business against Clark and company, but DiJonai Carrington and others were the targets of fans’ bad behavior.

Carrington posted a screenshot of one of the threats against her after Connecticut’s Game 1 victory, while Alyssa Thomas called out the behavior of Fever fans this season, particularly on social media.

Following the series coming to a close, Caitlin Clark commented on the matter.

“It’s definitely upsetting,” Clark asserted via James Boyd of The Athletic. “Nobody in our league should be facing any sort of racism, hurtful, disrespectful, hurtful comments and threats. You know, those aren’t fans, those are trolls, and it’s a real disservice to the people in our league, the organization, the WNBA, but there are a lot of really good fans, whether they’ve been fans for 20-plus years, or whether they’re new fans in our league.

“I think continuing to uplift this league in a very positive light is the best thing we can do, because there are so many great players, there’s so many great teams, there are so many positive storylines that can be written and celebrated, and for me, that’s why I became a fan of this league, these people were my idols. I grew up wanting to be like them.

“So, I think continuing to uplift, and represent this league in a positive way, is the best thing that we can do.”

Unfortunately for Clark, her name has constantly come up in this matter, although she has done nothing but show up to the court and play basketball.

Jemele Hill Speaks Out On Caitlin Clark Calling Out Racist Trolls

In her rookie season, Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark has had to deal with a new type of fan attaching themselves to her and using it as a tool to attack others.

During her end-of-season press conference, Clark was asked about the hate other players around the league have to deal with, and the rookie made sure to denounce racism.

Former ESPN host Jemele Hill had more to say as she gave her common sense take.

She made it clear that Caitlin Clark did not ask for any of this, and the people who are the issue are the ones who are trying to use their fandom of her as a tool to attack Black and LGBTQ+ women.
