Jesse Watters Takes Over Fox News’ 8 PM Slot, Shares Excitement for New Chapter
Jesse Watters is stepping into one of the most high-profile roles at Fox News, taking over the 8 PM primetime slot following Tucker Carlson’s departure. As he gears up for this new chapter, Watters has shared what he’s most looking forward to with the change.
A New Era for Fox News Primetime
Watters will now host Jesse Watters Primetime at 8 PM weeknights, a significant promotion that solidifies his presence as one of the network’s leading voices. Ahead of his debut, he told The U.S. Sun:
“I am most looking forward to having an extra hour to write scripts and plan the show.
I hope I’ll be able to consistently deliver great television, fresh analysis, new faces, compelling video, breaking news, and an honest voice who speaks to the American people nightly.”
A Rise Through the Ranks
Watters began his journey at Fox News in 2002 as a production assistant fresh out of college. He quickly made a name for himself with his man-on-the-street interviews, which became a signature segment and helped him build a loyal following.
Previously, he hosted Watters’ World, a Saturday talk show, before transitioning to his initial primetime slot in January 2022. In addition to his new 8 PM show, Watters will continue his role as a co-host of The Five, a position he has held since 2017.
Fox News’ Primetime Shakeup
Watters’ promotion comes as part of a larger reshuffling at Fox News, following Carlson’s exit in April. The new primetime lineup, which debuted on July 17, includes:
Laura Ingraham moving from 10 PM to 7 PM (The Ingraham Angle)
Jesse Watters taking over 8 PM (Jesse Watters Primetime)
Sean Hannity remaining in his 9 PM slot (Hannity)
Greg Gutfeld shifting from 11 PM to 10 PM (Gutfeld!)
Trace Gallagher moving to 11 PM (Fox News @ Night)
Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott expressed excitement about the changes, stating:
“Fox News Channel has been America’s destination for news and analysis for more than 21 years, and we are thrilled to debut a new lineup.
The unique perspectives of Laura Ingraham, Jesse Watters, Sean Hannity, and Greg Gutfeld will ensure our viewers have access to unrivaled coverage from our best-in-class team for years to come.”
Looking Forward
With his 8 PM slot, Watters is stepping into a major role in Fox News’ primetime lineup, ensuring that he remains a key voice in conservative media. As he balances his new responsibilities with his role on The Five and his growing family, he looks ahead with enthusiasm, ready to deliver fresh content and engage with audiences on a deeper level.
