Angel Reese has earned herself yet another nickname, this time courtesy of NBA legend Lisa Leslie.

Leslie, a two-time WNBA champion and two-time MVP, is a huge fan of the Chicago Sky forward and has been very complimentary of her since she entered the league this year.

Reese, who has several nicknames, all ending with “Barbie,” is one of the most popular professional basketball players at the moment and is also pretty relevant off the court.

The former Lady Tiger has had a busy offseason after seeing her rookie year cut short by injury and continues to trend.

She attended the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show earlier this week, stepping out in a red tight-fitting mesh dress without a back that had the internet drooling. Leslie, though, thought the look was sophisticated.

“Okay!!!” she offered as a reaction. “I like Sophisticated Barbie.”

Angel Reese Has Gotten A Nickname From Lisa Leslie Before

This is not the first nickname Reese has gotten from the former Los Angeles Sparks center. Leslie referred to her as the “Rebounding Barbie” earlier this year due to her rebounding prowess.

Reese, who averaged 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds per game as a rookie, led the WNBA in the rebounding category and was the only first-year player to average a double-double.

She was also one of two rooks to be named to the All-Star team, joining college rival Caitlin Clark.

“I’m so proud of you!” Leslie said after the news dropped. “Congratulations on your first All-Star! I told you! They will all regret passing on you.”

Angel Reese is now looking ahead to a stronger second year in the league. She hopes to help the Sky return to the playoffs, as they missed out this season for the first time since 2018.
