Sean Duffy and Rachel Campos-Duffy Welcome Their Ninth Child, Valentina Stella Maris Duffy

Rachel Campos-Duffy shared this photo of her newborn daughter, Valentina, on Tuesday. The baby was born on October 1 , a month early, in Wisconsin. She has two holes in her heart and also has Down Syndrome

On October 1, Fox News’ Sean Duffy and Rachel Campos-Duffy welcomed their ninth child, a beautiful baby girl named Valentina StellaMaris Duffy. The couple shared the joyful news on social media, although Valentina’s early arrival came with significant challenges.

A Tough Start for Baby Valentina

Valentina was born one month early, which required her to remain in the NICU until she was strong enough to eat on her own. Rachel shared an intimate photograph of her newborn daughter swaddled in blankets with a tube in her nose, emphasizing that her precious girl is “doing great” despite the early struggles.

In a heartfelt post on Facebook, Rachel revealed that Valentina was born with a heart defect, specifically two holes in her heart, which will require surgery in 3-4 months. She also shared that Valentina was born with Down syndrome, an extra chromosome that made her “extra cute” in her mother’s eyes.

Rachel expressed how she and her family feel about their new addition: “She is the sweetest, most perfect thing we have ever seen. It’s a wonderful life!” Rachel also thanked everyone who had offered prayers and support during the challenging time, showing gratitude for the outpouring of love from their community.

Adjusting to Life with Valentina

Rachel shared that although the baby’s health issues are serious, she and her family remain positive and grateful. She mentioned that the Duffy children are excited to meet their new sister, with her older siblings fighting over who gets to hold her. Rachel also described the difficulty of recovering from her first C-section while trying to keep up with Valentina’s growing appetite and expressed admiration for fellow C-section moms.

As Valentina continues her recovery, she will remain in the hospital for the next few weeks. But despite the tough start, the family remains hopeful and determined to give her all the love and care she needs.

Sean Duffy’s Resignation for Family Time

Sean Duffy had made the decision earlier this year to resign from his position as Wisconsin’s 7th District Congressman in order to devote more time to his family following the news of Valentina’s heart defect. In a public statement, he shared how difficult it was to step down from his role but felt it was necessary to support his wife, baby, and family during this time.

“I truly love being your Congressman, but it is the right decision for my family, which is my first love and responsibility,” Duffy stated. He was met with support from President Donald Trump and many of his fellow Republicans as he transitioned away from public office to focus on his family.

A Love Story That Began on MTV

Duffy was serving in Wisconsin's 7th District but he gave him his position earlier this year

The couple’s journey together began in 1998 on MTV’s “The Real World” series, where Sean appeared on The Real World: Boston and Rachel was part of The Real World: San Francisco. The two met on the set of MTV’s Road Rules: All Stars in 1999, and they married shortly after, going on to raise their growing family together.

Sean Duffy has long been an enthusiastic supporter of former President Trump, and both he and Rachel have become public figures known for their conservative views. The couple now looks forward to raising their ninth child, surrounded by love, faith, and support from their extended family and community.

Their story continues to inspire many, showing the resilience and strength of a family that faces challenges head-on with faith, love, and determination.
