Whoopi Goldberg is taking on a big-time career opportunity.

The 68-year-old co-host of the popular show “The View,” is reportedly set to play the role of Miss Hannigan in the musical “Annie” in New York City this winter.

Broadway World reported that Goldberg will appear in the show which is slated to take place at The Theater at Madison Square Garden. Parade Magazine reported that the musical is slated to run for five weeks from Dec. 4, 2024 until Jan. 5, 2025. It said Goldberg would actually play Miss Hannigan from Dec. 11 until Jan. 5.

“I love the theatre, and in my mind, there is no better way to spend the holidays than to get back on stage,” Goldberg reportedly said. “I can’t wait to step in to the delicious role of Miss Hannigan and perform for the greatest audiences in the world – in my hometown of New York City.”

Parade magazine said that Charles Strouse, a Tony Award-winning composer, said that having Goldberg “join the company and make her first appearance ever in a production of ANNIE is a gift to us all!”
