The former Iowa Hawkeye star delivered a career-best performance with 31 points on 8-of-14 shooting with 12 assists while committing only three turnovers. She posted a plus-23 rating, the second highest for the Fever.

She left the game early, having played 32 minutes and 25 seconds, as the Fever had built a substantial lead. The crowd at Wintrust Arena, the Chicago Sky’s home, cheered her as she exited with 3:52 remaining.

Even the broadcasters seemed to note the crowd’s enthusiasm, questioning if Clark was even in enemy territory.

The game marked the WNBA’s first Barbie-themed event, fittingly featuring the top rookies in Clark and Angel Reese, also known as the “Bayou Barbie” (via WNBA.com):

“The Chicago Sky are thrilled to be the first WNBA team to partner with Barbie, the world’s most iconic and diverse doll brand that reminds girls they can be anything,” Chicago Sky’s Chief Marketing Officer Tania Haladner said.

“Barbie aligns perfectly with the Sky’s mission to empower girls and women to explore limitless possibilities, and we can’t wait to bring inspiring content to fans,” she added.

The Sky’s Barbie Game Night featured a pre-game panel discussion, Barbie-themed giveaways, arena decorations, fan contests and concourse activities.

Caitlin Clark helps Indiana Fever surge to 6th, while Sky’s playoff prospects wobble

With fewer than 10 games remaining, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever climbed to sixth place in the overall standings and third in the Eastern Conference after the win. They are tied with the Phoenix Mercury at 16-16 but hold the tiebreaker.

The Fever have won five of their last six games since the 2024 Paris Olympics break and seem to be peaking just as the playoffs approach. They also won the season series against the Sky, 3-1.

In the loss, Angel Reese recorded her 23rd double-double, breaking the WNBA rookie record with her 10-point, 11-rebound outing on the night.

The Chicago Sky fell to an 11-20 record for the season with their fifth straight loss, putting their playoff chances in jeopardy as they currently hold onto the final playoff spot, with the Atlanta Dream (10-20) trailing them.

The Dream faces the third easiest remaining schedule, according to Tankathon, while the Sky has the sixth toughest.

Furthermore, Indiana has the easiest remaining schedule with only three of their last eight matchups against teams currently in the top eight.
