Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese officially launched her “Unapologetically Angel” podcast on Thursday, September 5. The show’s first episode was titled “Angel Reese Spills The Tea On Caitlin Clark, Her Love Life, LSU Rumors & More On Her New Show.”
Teasing a discussion about Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark, the title of this first episode also previewed details on Reese’s love life, stories about her time at LSU and more.
What caught the attention of many fans was not only Clark’s inclusion in the headline, but also the show’s initial thumbnail that included the Fever rookie alongside Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant and LSU guard Flau’jae Johnson.
This episode now features a different thumbnail that includes just Reese and her co-host. Likely having little to no involvement in creating the show’s title or thumbnail, Reese almost certainly has a team for those decisions. Despite this, the Sky forward has still been facing backlash from fans.
“Unapologetically click baity,” @JermySaintLouis on X wrote.
Other fans have accused Reese of using Clark’s name and image for “clout” on her new show.
“Clout chasing,” @indianafeverish on X wrote.
Again, it is important to mention that not only is it unlikely Reese created the thumbnail herself, but it also no longer includes Clark.
“Caitlin worried about practicing and getting triple doubles while you worried about a podcast and can’t make a layup,” @CCUpdates2 on X wrote. “That’s the difference.”
There are several comments like these under this post on X. It is unlikely Reese has anything to do with the thumbnail, but the Sky forward is still facing backlash.
