NFL fans argue that Simone Biles “should be STRIPPED of all her medals” after a significant wardrobe mishap while the Olympic gymnast was cheering on her husband, Jonathan Owens.
Simone Biles incurred the wrath of NFL fans with her fashion choices Saturday as she watched her Chicago Bears husband, Jonathan Owens, suit up. Fresh off dazzling the crowds in Paris with three gold medals and one silver, the Olympic gymnast caught some NFL preseason action as she cheered on her beau at the Bears’ game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
However, sharp-eyed NFL fans were outraged when they noticed the 27-year-old Olympic legend committing a major football fashion misstep. While standing on the sidelines at Soldier Field, Biles was seen wearing an oversized jacket adorned with black-and-white photos of her NFL husband, Jonathan Owens.
The catch? The photos showed Owens in action with the Green Bay Packers, the long-time rivals of the Chicago Bears, whom she was there to support. To add insult to injury, a prominent Packers logo was displayed on the shoulder pad. Biles, who was also wearing a protective boot on her left foot due to a calf injury from the Olympics, completed the look with reflective silver sunglasses, a black Prada bucket hat, and a Balenciaga purse.
Although Biles intended to show her support for Owens, she inadvertently stepped into one of the NFL’s most intense rivalries, leaving fans unimpressed. One user on X, formerly Twitter, wrote, “Simone Biles should be stripped of all her medals for wearing Packers gear while cheering for the Bears.”
Others echoed the sentiment, questioning her awareness of football culture and rivalries.
