Basketball history is filled with iconic, player-invented skills that have become timeless. Signature skills like Magic Johnson’s no-look pass and Isiah Thomas’ bounce-pass lob are just two examples of game-changing techniques that continue to influence NBA players today.

Johnson has frequently been praised for his passing skills on the court. Additionally, two-time NBA champion Thomas, who recently criticized Michael Jordan, has claimed that the former Los Angeles Lakers legend is the greatest passer of all time.

In a recent post on X (formerly known as Twitter), when asked by a fan named ‘Dani’ about who the greatest passer of all time is, Thomas mentioned Magic Johnson’s name. The 12-time NBA all-star believes that Johnson is the best passer ever due to his height, creativity, and imagination.

“Dani, @MagicJohnson is the best passer ever because of his height, creativity, and imagination. He invented the no-look pass, I invented the bounce pass lob for smaller players. #creativity#imagination When you introduce the never-been-done unthinkable that’s the differentiator.” Thomas wrote in his latest post on X.

NBA fans were taken aback by Thomas’s response and had varying reactions to his statement in the comments section of the post.

One fan said, “Magic had great teammates to pass the ball to. JKidd/Steve Nash/Stockton where just as good of passers. Magic was a far more versatile defender and a better rebounder.”

Meanwhile, another fan mentioned, “OG, are you sure Harlem Globetrotters or players during the years before the NBA weren’t doing no-look and bounce passes before y’all? Not everything was documented.”

Another fan reacted, “Bob Cousy and Pete Maravich were doing no look passed long before Magic Johnson.”

Thomas Claps Back At Haters With A Savage Reply

Recently, Thomas was mocked by several fans for his signature move, ‘the Bounce pass lobs.’ Many fans believed that the former NBA player was not the first player to perform this skill and mentioned a few players who had done it before. However, Thomas responded to the criticism by stating, “Well, it’s safe to say no one was doing this,” in his recent post on X.

Thomas played 13 seasons in the NBA for the Detroit Pistons. He achieved numerous milestones in his career, including two NBA championships, MVP of the NBA Finals, and 12-time All-Star. Thomas’ best stats came in the 1982-83 NBA season when he averaged 22.9 points, 7.8 assists, and 4.0 rebounds per ga
