The controversy surrounding Imane Khelif, the Algerian boxer who was wrongly accused of being trans, is not over, because even if not everyone likes it, her path in the 2024 Olympic Games is just beginning and her next fight will be against the Hungarian Anna Luca Hamori.

After tons of misinformation and hate, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) backed the boxer and reiterated that despite the accusations against her, Khelif complies with all the eligibility and registration rules of the competition, so her second fight is still on.

However, the news did not sit well with the Hungarian athlete, who through social networks showed her discontent with the IOC’s decision by sharing a controversial image that has already gone viral.

Anna Luca Hamori reposted an illustration on her Instagram stories in which a female boxer can be seen about to fight against what appears to be a representation of a large, muscular demon.

A short time later, the athlete ended up deleting the story, several people took a screenshot of the image and claimed that this type of behavior is unsportsmanlike and is just further proof of the enormous discrimination that Imane is being victimized by.

Although Anna Luca did not comment on the publication, in an interview she reiterated that she is not afraid to face Imane Khelif this Saturday and that, on the contrary, if her opponent is a man, her victory will be even greater.

“I am not afraid, I do not care what the media or social networks say. If she is a man, it will be a great victory for me if I win,” she said.

Imane Khelif was born in Algeria and throughout her career she has managed to represent her country in several competitions. However, throughout her career she has had to face comments that claim that she is a trans woman due to her physical appearance.

Despite all the rumors, the reality is that Khelif is actually a woman by birth who identifies and lives as such, but suffers from hyperandrogenism, an endocrinological condition that alters her testosterone levels, among other things.

In 2023 she was disqualified from the world championship in New Delhi, organized by the International Boxing Association (IBA), because a test to measure her hormonal levels determined an excess of testosterone, a hormone that the female body also produces, but in smaller quantities.

In the past, Imane Khelif won the gold medal at the Oran Mediterranean Games in 2022, has been three-time African champion, two-time best female athlete in Algeria and also won the World Boxing Association (IBA) silver medal.
