The Indiana Fever are down 0-1 in the first round of the WNBA playoffs after entering the postseason as the underdog to the No. 3 Connecticut Sun.
Clark and the Fever fell 93-69 in Game 1. The Fever star came into the postseason with high expectations, but she had a tough outing in Game 1, finishing the game with 11 points, eight assists and four rebounds.
After the game, she mentioned being frustrated “as a shooter” because she thought open looks were available throughout the matchup.
“My shot felt right there, that’s why it’s so frustrating as a shooter when it feels so good but it won’t go down for you,” Clark said.
The rookie finished the game shooting 4-of-17 from the field and 2-of-13 from three.
Clark mentioned that the Fever could never really “claw back into it,” and much of their struggles came on the offensive end.
A couple of other Fever stars were also having trouble finding the bottom of the net. Kelsey Mitchell finished the game shooting 2-of-10 from three and Lexie Hull recorded five points while shooting 0-of-2 from three and 1-of-4 from the field.
Indiana will have another matchup in Connecticut on Wednesday. It will be an elimination game for the Fever, so Clark and the rest of Indiana’s squad will play with their backs against the wall.
If the Fever were to take down the Sun in Game 2, the third and final game of the series would be played in Indiana. The winner of this first-round series will play the winner of the Minnesota Lynx versus Phoenix Mercury series.
